3 Nights Kuching - Lemanak River Longhouse
Day
1 Kuching
Upon arrival in Kuching Airport, you
will be met by our representatives and
transferred to designated hotel for
accommodation.
Half-day Kuching City Tours - The tour begins
with a drive to see gigantic Cat Statue
(mascot of the city) at Padungan before
cruising through China town and a stop at
the Tua Pek Kong temple (1876) - the oldest
in Sarawak. Next, you will proceed to the
modern Civic Centre Building to enjoy
magnificent panoramic view of the city
from the building tower block. Winding through the
heart of the city, look out for the majestic
looking Astana (1870) - formerly served as
the palace of
the White Rajah, now as the official residence
of the Governor of Sarawak - and the old
Colonial Law Court House, complete with
a Clock Tower and granite obelisk built
in memory of Rajah Charles Brooke.

Day
2 Kuching - Lemanak River Longhouse (B/L/D)
The morning starts as you depart Kuching for a 4 hour leisure
drive to the Lemanak Jetty. There will be
sightseeing stops along Serian district
and a lunch stop at Lanchau. Upon arrival
at the river jetty, the journey proceeds by motorized
longboat going up the river against of the many
rapids, paddling and polling in the clear
water of the Lemanak River underneath the
cool, thick over-hanging jungle foliage for
about 45 minutes to reach your destination
- the Lemanak river Longhouse.
After dinner, you will return to the longhouse for
social gathering with the "Tuai Rumah"
(Headman) and the longhouse dwellers
as well as presentation
of gifts. "Tuak" (a potent rice
wine) will be served and there will be cultural
performances you can take part before
retiring for the night at the guesthouse.
Day
3 Lemanak River Longhouse (B/L)
After the morning breakfast, where
you will witness cockfighting and
blowpipe demonstration. This will be followed by a jungle
walk to learn the forest privy. The
knowledgeable guide will highlight the various plants which
the natives use for food, making traditional
medicine, handicraft and watch how the natives
set up ingenious animal traps. The trail
also passes through an Iban burial ground.
Next, drift down the river by paddling and
polling
in the clear water to the jetty, then by
coach to Kuching with lunch en route.
Overnight in Kuching.
Note: Dress casually,
wear tennis shoes or thongs. It is
advisable to bring along binoculars. insect repellent, torch
light , raincoat and swim suit.
Day
3 Kuching - Departure (B)
Breakfast is served at the hotel. You will
then free at leisure until transfer to airport for departure flight.
