CHRIST CHURCH - Built in 1753, Christ Church is a living testimony to Dutch architecture. Take note that the pews and ceiling beams were constructed without joints.
PORTA DE SANTIAGO - Also known as A’ Famosa, the fortress was built by the Portuguese to defend their position from invaders. However, when the Dutch invaded Malacca, the fortress suffered severe damage and the Dutch later went about destroying what remained of the walls. Hence, all that remains now is the entrance to what was once an imposing structure that defended the city from attack.
ST PAUL’S CHURCH - Built by a Portuguese Capital by the name of Duarte Coelho, the chapel was turned by the Dutch into a burial ground for their noble dead and renamed it St Paul’s Church. St Francis Xavier was briefly enshrined in the open grave in 1553 before being shipped to Goa, India
